How to use this calculator
Choose a solid. For cylinder/cone, a is radius and b is perpendicular height. For prism/pyramid, a and b are base sides and c is height.
Formula and method
Cylinder V=πr²h, S=2πr(r+h). Cone V=πr²h/3, S=πr(r+√(r²+h²)). Sphere V=4πr³/3, S=4πr².
Worked example
A 3 m × 4 m × 5 m rectangular prism has volume 60 m³ and surface area 94 m².
Assumptions and supported scope
Closed exterior surfaces only. Pyramid is right with apex centered above a rectangular base; cone is right circular. Positive dimensions in one consistent unit. No open-top surfaces or solid diagrams.
