Formula and method
Classic F = MSbetween/MSwithin. Welch uses inverse-variance weights; Holm adjusts ordered pairwise p-values.
Worked example
Groups 4,5,6; 7,8,9; 10,11,12 yield F=27 with df 2,6 and p≈0.001.
Assumptions and supported scope
2–12 groups, 2–200 observations/group. Classic ANOVA assumes common variance; Welch does not. Pairwise tests are Welch regardless of omnibus method. No repeated measures or Tukey HSD.
