Formula and method
Frequency=count; relative frequency=count/n; cumulative frequency=sum of preceding counts.
Worked example
For 1,2,2,3,3,3,4 as categories, the count for 3 is 3 and relative frequency is 3/7.
Assumptions and supported scope
1–500 values, 1–30 equal-width numeric bins. Numeric data must vary. Bin count and origin affect apparent shape.
